The best TiviMate settings for IPTV
The five that matter most: buffer size Medium, EPG update every 24 hours, auto frame rate on (if your TV supports it), hide channel groups you never watch, and back up your setup. Ten minutes, and TiviMate feels faster and smoother.

Playback: smooth picture first
Buffer size decides how many seconds TiviMate loads ahead. Bigger is smoother but adds a short delay when you change channels. Start at Medium and only go to Large if you see stutter on Wi-Fi. Auto frame rate switches the TV to the channel’s native rate, which makes football and fast motion look natural.

TV guide (EPG): always full, always on time
TiviMate downloads the guide separately from the channels. An update every 24 hours keeps a full week of programmes. If times are off by an hour or more, use Time shift instead of changing the device clock. Empty guide? See TiviMate EPG not working.
Channel list: your lineup, not the whole world
- Hide groups: long-press a group in the guide and hide countries or categories you never watch. Fewer groups means faster loading.
- Favourites: long-press a channel → Add to favourites. Put the favourites group at the top.
- Sort: order groups by how often you use them.
Favourites management, catch-up and recording are part of TiviMate Premium: see free vs Premium.
Back up everything
Settings → Backup data saves playlists, favourites, hidden groups and settings. After a reset or on a new device, restore it and you are done in a minute.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best buffer size in TiviMate?
Medium for most homes. Choose Large on Wi-Fi that drops at busy times, and Small only on a wired connection where you want the fastest channel switching.
How often should TiviMate update the EPG?
Once every 24 hours is enough for a full 7-day guide. Updating more often only slows small devices.
Should I turn on auto frame rate?
If your TV supports it, yes: it matches the TV’s refresh rate to the channel (50 or 60 Hz) and removes judder in sports. If the screen goes black for a second on every channel change, turn it off.
Do the settings change between TiviMate versions?
Names move slightly between versions, but the options below have been in TiviMate for years. If you cannot find one, check the same menu group.
