TiviMate EPG not working: fix an empty or wrong TV guide
Quick fix: Settings → EPG → Update EPG, then wait a few minutes. If you added the playlist as M3U, re-add it with the Xtream Codes login: the guide then comes with it automatically.
What your guide problem means
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Whole guide empty | Guide not downloaded yet, or no EPG source | Update EPG; add the source (M3U users) |
| “No information” on some channels | Channel not matched to guide data | Long-press → Edit → EPG |
| Programmes 1+ hours off | Time zone mismatch | Automatic clock + EPG time shift |
| Guide stops after a day or two | Update interval too long | Update every 24 hours |
| Guide worked, now empty | Old guide data or source changed | Clear EPG data, then update |
Fix the TiviMate EPG, step by step
Update the EPG by hand
Settings → EPG → Update EPG. Wait 2–5 minutes: the guide downloads separately from the channels.
Check the EPG source
With an Xtream Codes login the guide source is added automatically. With an M3U link, add the EPG (XMLTV) address from your email under Settings → EPG → EPG sources.
Fix the time shift
If the guide shows the wrong programme, adjust Settings → EPG → Time shift by the number of hours it is off.
Match single channels
For one channel without guide data: long-press it → Edit → EPG and pick the right guide entry.
Clear the old guide
Still empty? Settings → EPG → Clear EPG data, then Update EPG again.
Xtream Codes or M3U? With Xtream Codes, TiviMate gets channels, guide, catch-up, movies and series in one go. That is why our setup guide recommends it.
Keep the guide healthy
- Set the EPG update interval to 24 hours (see best TiviMate settings).
- Hide channel groups you never watch: the guide downloads and loads faster.
- Keep the device date and time on automatic.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my TiviMate guide empty?
Usually the guide has not finished downloading, the playlist was added as M3U without an EPG address, or the device clock is wrong. Update the EPG and wait a few minutes.
Why does the TiviMate guide show the wrong times?
The time zone does not match. Set the device date and time to automatic, then use Settings → EPG → Time shift for any remaining difference.
Only some channels have no guide. Is that normal?
Some small or event channels have no guide data. For others, long-press the channel → Edit → EPG and link it to the right guide entry.
Do I need a separate EPG source for TiviMate?
Not with the Xtream Codes login: the guide comes with it. Only M3U users need to add the EPG (XMLTV) address manually.
